Adoption Requirements

Please review the following requirements prior to submitting an application

  • 23 years of age or older
  • You must be the primary person applying to adopt and cannot apply on behalf of a friend, family member, or significant other outside of your household (ie you cannot submit an application to adopt a dog you intend to live with your parents, etc)
  • Home owner/landlord approval if renting
  • Fully fenced/enclosed yard (those without fenced yard are considered on a case-by-case basis, please see section in Adoption FAQs)
  • Indoor living arrangements for adopted dog, including an indoor, climate controlled environment for dog when left unattended
  • A work schedule or routine that does not leave the adopted dog unattended for 9+ hours (a typical 9-5 work day) or left unattended for 4+ hours if adopted dog is 6 months of age or younger.
  • Vet references (see Adoption FAQs if you do not currently have a vet)
  • If you currently have a dog in your home, you will be required to provide video of your dog(s) in social interaction with other dogs for evaluation and matching purposes.
  • In person or virtual home visits via live streaming video calls such as Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime are required
